Tad Craig Photography bio picture

Greetings from Beautiful Maui Hawaii

Born in Aspen, and raised in Telluride, Colorado, Tad has
always had a passion for the outdoors and a reverence for the
beauty of his natural surroundings.

Tad received his first camera, a Nikon FE2, as a high school
graduation gift. Since then, he has been obsessed with
perfecting his craft, constantly pushing himself to create
better, more beautiful images. He began his career as a sports
photographer shooting extreme sports in Colorado, Oregon, and
Hawaii.

The transition from Sports to Wedding Photographer evolved  with the help of three things: A Public Relations degree from C.U. Boulder, years of experience working in Five Star Hotels
and a solid photography background. Tad skillfully blends
traditional techniques with spontaneous photojournalism. The
striking quality of his photographs is rooted in the basics:
clean, simple compositions, a candid eye toward his subjects,
and the ability to step out of the way to allow the
breathtaking beauty of the Pacific speak for itself.

Tad prides himself on treating clients like friends and takes an
invitation to photograph every event to heart. His professional,
easy going personality will help make your special day relaxed,
hassle free, and fun. His creative eye, attention to detail, and
friendly, approachable nature have made him one of the most sought
after photographers on the Islands. His gift for connecting with
people and consistently delivering beautiful images will help turn
your wedding dreams into reality.

Angela & Darryl- After being together for 10 years they finally Marry!!

So 2-27-10 there was a major tsunami evacuation here in the Hawaiian Islands. Both Angela & Darryl had no idea early in the day if their wedding was even going to take place. Because of the warning I had to grab EVERY THING important for my business & load it in my car & go to higher ground. I waited till 1:30 in the afternoon before going down to my office. Upon recieving the “All Clear”, I unpacked & prepared for my wedding & was on location by 4:45pm. It was quite an ordeal but it all worked out well.

After dealing with the tsunami evacuation , they were finally able to say “I DO!” These two were having so much fun on their wedding day. Always laughing & smiling it was easy creating images showing the joy & love they have for each other. Enjoy!!!

Erin, Jeff & Fifty friends/family came to Maui for their wedding!

So 2 of my closest friends are named Erin & Jeff. On my way to shoot Erin & Jeff’s wedding, I called my friends Erin & Jeff to tell them I was shooting their wedding. Of course they were in in Oregon, but they got a laugh out it.

My clients Erin & Jeff, had their beautiful wedding in Makena @ Sugarman’s estate. The evening was absolutely perfect with GREAT light. I loved how playful they both were & I think it shows in the pictures! On this day Team Canada was playing Russia in Hockey. At first it was difficult to pry the guys away from the game. You can see that in one of the pics. Enjoy!!!
